On May 26, 2026, the distinguished scientist, engineer, inventor, teacher, businessman, and founder of the Tang Prize, Samuel Yen-Liang Yin, passed away.
For his numerous achievements, Samuel Yen-Liang Yin has been awarded more than 70 prestigious national and international prizes and professional awards: Doctor, Founder of the Tang Prize, Chairman of Ruentex Group, Chief R&D officer and Chief Enginee of Ruentex Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd., Honorary President of the International Academy of Engineering, Foreign Member of the Russian Academy of Engineering, Fellow of the U.S. National Academy of Inventors. Professor of National Taiwan University, National Chengchi University, Beijing University, etc. Doctor of Business Administration, Honorary Doctorates from SBRAS, Honorary Doctorate of Engineering from National Taiwan University, Beijing University, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, etc. Inventor of more than 600 patents in Taiwan, the USA, Great Britain, the EU, Canada, China, Japan and Korea
and more than 500 scientific publications. Samuel Yen-Liang Yin was awarded many international prizes.
Dr. Yin made an invaluable contribution to the development of the International and Russian Academies of Engineering.
